Deimos Books

We are a small "book publisher", working remotely from different towns in Montana. We put "book publisher" in quotes, as we don't print books ourselves, but instead help facilitate self-publishing for our curated authors. We are not a scam service, charging authors for the chance to publish. We love books, and as a hobby, like to help writers we enjoy get through the sometimes complicated or hard process of editing, formatting, cover design, and marketing their books. We also hope to create short story collections by our writers and provide a place for monthly serial publications.

Max Kingston

Creative

Max Kingston is a lover of physical media. Growing up, he admired the marketing of movie posters, book covers, and album covers. He helps design book covers and marketing material for Deimos Books. He has served as an editor for short films, as well as creating animations for online videos. He looks forward to working with authors to help create iconic book covers.

Ray Pierce

Editor

Raymond "Cherry" Pierce is an avid reader who loves two genres: Horror & Montana Fiction. His favorite books include Old King, World War Z, and The Haunting of Hill House. He works as the editor of Deimos Books, providing limited editing to books, formatting, and reading potential books. He is the former co-editor of Dreaded Bones Lit Magazine.

Vincent Black

Vincent Webster Black was born in Missoula, Montana and currently resides in Jefferson County. From a young age, Vincent showed a strong love for writing. In first grade, Vincent wrote a series of over 30 short stories, and his passion for short fiction only grew with time. He is also the creator of the Sundry, MT ARG, which involves a series of videos, documents, and a choose-your-own-adventure game. He plans to continue writing novellas, plays, and short stories as a hobby while he prioritizes his favorite job in the world, raising his daughter.

Norman Clifton

Norman Clifton is a writer drawn to the eerie, the unsettling, and the shadows that linger just out of sight. His fiction has appeared in Dreaded Bones Magazine, where his stories Bannack, and the Wood Pit were published. Beyond fiction, he has a background in journalism, having served as editor of his high school newspaper and later served as a reporter for the Sundry Gazette, his hometown paper. When he isn't writing or working, Norman can be found watching horror movies or taking long walks with his dog, Bailey. Often letting those quiet walks through Montana's wilderness spark his next unsettling story.

Danny Barton

Danny Barton was a prolific ghost writer, helping rewrite and punch up westerns, and noir crimes novels throughout his storied career. During his retirement in his remote ranch in Central Montana, he wrote short stories, and serialized stories for Dreaded Bones Magazine. Danny died peacefully in his sleep, of old age in the summer of 2025. We are honored to reprint and share the stories he gave us. He was a great mentor to the creatives behind Deimos Books.

Juliette Donovan

Juliette Donovan writes short stories, poetry and screenplays for short films as a hobby, while maintaining her main job, raising her two kids. She loves spending time reading books, running 5k's and baking sweet treats. Juliette hopes to continue writing, and is currently working on her first novel.
